Firearms belonging to Olympic shooting legend Lones Wigger will be auctioned on GunBroker.com March 6-20, to benefit Youth shooting programs.
The family of Lones Wigger has generously donated over 30 firearms and shooting memorabilia belonging to Lones, with proceeds directed to the Lones Wigger Youth Program Endowment with MidwayUSA Foundation.
“This is an amazing collection of rifles that span the later part of his career,” said Matt Suggs, USA Shooting CEO. “There are rifles I recognize from the time he was shooting.”
The firearms include two Remington Model 720s as well as rifles that Wigger used at competitions. Each firearm has been paired with unique personal memorabilia from his career as well as a certificate of authenticity.
The Lones Wigger Youth Program Endowment creates a lasting legacy for shooting sports by providing additional funding for USA Shooting to grow youth programs and enhance grassroots development.
“Lones Wigger was fiercely dedicated to junior shooting and this endowment truly serves as living legacy of how he wanted to positively impact the sport,” said Suggs.
A four-time Olympian and retired Army Lieutenant Colonel, Wigger is an iconic figure in the shooting sports. He has won over 111 international medals, 3 Olympic medals and is the only USA Shooting Team member ever elected to the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee Hall of Fame.
The auction is being curated by Sportsman’s Legacy and hosted on GunBroker.com. The collection can be previewed at https://bit.ly/3uF8wKV
